OUR 2024

In 2024, we deepened our commitment to meaningful change.

Through every product sold, every adventure undertaken, and every story told, we brought communities together to protect nature and uplift lives. From expanding clean water access and renewable energy to investing in education and sanitation, our mission grew stronger. Powered by our troop, partners, and supporters, TGB continues to turn purpose into action, linking lifestyle with long-term impact.

A message from our founders

Dear Troop,

As we look back on 2024, we are filled with pride and deep gratitude. This year marked a turning point not only in what we accomplished but in how we evolved as a movement. Together, we brought solar energy to schools and ranger outposts, expanded access to clean water and sanitation across the Bwindi region, and laid the foundations to build a new primary school in 2025.

These milestones were made possible because of you. From our team and partners to every supporter and customer, your commitment fuels our mission. Whether trekking through the Grand Canyon to raise funds or wearing our products with purpose, you are the reason this community grows stronger each year.

Special thanks to The Gorilla Organization and RTG for their partnership and vision, and to Samuel Mugisha and the Running With Sam initiative for inspiring connection and action on the ground.

This report reflects what we have built together in 2024 and we could not be more excited for what comes next.

With heartfelt thanks,
Leo and Casey

Our Interventions

We focus on four core interventions that drive lasting impact in communities surrounding gorilla habitats: water, sanitation, solar energy and education. These pillars are deeply interconnected, each one strengthening the next to build healthier and more resilient communities.

As projects are completed, we continue expanding our reach by supporting new schools, villages and ranger stations. With every step, we move closer to a future where access to opportunity, infrastructure and conservation education is not a privilege but a reality for all.

WATER

Access to clean water is foundational to health, dignity and opportunity. Our long-term partnership with The Gorilla Organization has brought safe water access to communities surrounding Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where infrastructure has long been limited.

Today, our water initiatives reach approximately 30 communities, transforming daily life for thousands. Clean water access has enabled schools to maintain gardens for food self-sufficiency and allowed former swamplands like Njeganjengye to become farmland supporting around 80 households. Clinics now report fewer cases of waterborne illness among children, and villagers no longer need to collect water from forest streams, reducing human–wildlife conflict and improving safety.

This builds on previous milestones where we directly reached 15,000 people across 20 communities, with an extended impact of over 100,000 people through the completion of three major phases of the Bwindi Community Water Project.

HYGIENE & SANITATION

Access to proper sanitation is vital for health, dignity and educational outcomes. In 2024, we completed the sanitation infrastructure upgrade across all 16 targeted schools surrounding Bwindi National Park, reaching approximately 5,000 students and teachers.

These upgrades included safe, private toilet facilities that directly improve attendance, especially for girls, while reducing illness and supporting cleaner, more resilient school environments. One of the standout examples is Nyamatsinda Primary School, where 686 students and 14 teachers now benefit from clean sanitation, fresh water and solar energy, transforming daily life and enabling learning to thrive.

SOLAR

In 2024, we brought solar power to two schools and one ranger outpost near Bwindi. These installations now provide reliable electricity for over 2,000 people, including students, teachers and rangers.

Access to solar energy means classrooms stay lit, educational tools can be used, and conservation teams operate more safely and effectively. Solar power is helping transform daily life and strengthen long-term resilience across the communities we support.

EDUCATION

In 2024, our education initiatives continued to expand through a combined focus on infrastructure, energy, and opportunity. We improved conditions in multiple schools across the Bwindi region by supporting access to clean water, sanitation, and solar power—key pillars that directly impact attendance, learning outcomes, and student well-being.

Education in these communities goes beyond the classroom. Students actively participate in local conservation efforts through hands-on environmental education, including reforestation projects, waste clean-ups, and awareness campaigns. These activities nurture future conservation leaders and link learning to real-world impact.

Looking ahead, we are preparing to build a new primary school from the ground up in 2025. This will be one of our most ambitious commitments to date, creating a lasting centre of opportunity, resilience, and conservation-focused education within the region.

Every item we create fuels impact. Every adventure we launch drives change. Whether you are wearing our products, supporting our campaigns or sharing our story, you are part of something bigger. One that drives purpose, empowers communities and protects the wild.

Be part of the movement.
