In May 2024, Leo & Casey will take on the 8th Adventure For A Cause, a 50km hike in the Grand Canyon. This is one of the lesser known hikes in the Grand Canyon, the Kanab Creek Wilderness Hike.
The Adventure will consist of 3 days of trekking into the solitude & wilderness of 75,000 acres of the Kanab Creek, with thousands of feet of daily descents and ascents on off-trail rugged routes deep into the canyon with 3 nights camping in the wilderness, carrying all supplies.
This 8th Adventure For A Cause challenge will be fundraising for solar energy solutions within communities close to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. They will be implemented within 2 schools & a ranger outpost. The direct beneficiaries will be approximately 2000 people, and due to the rangers now being able to sleep near to the gorillas at the ranger outpost, (which has befitted from all 3 projects; water, sanitation & now solar energy), some of the direct beneficiaries are also the actual gorillas!
