The Bwindi Collection, our Spring / Summer ’26 season, continues our exploration of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in southwestern Uganda one of the most biodiverse regions on the planet and a place that remains central to That Gorilla Brand.
Developed under the creative direction of Harris Elliott, SS26 refines the brand’s evolving visual language, balancing cultural reference, typography and colour with a strong sense of place. Nature, rhythm and lived environment inform the palette, graphic direction and overall energy of the collection.

Afrorock and Dance Africa introduce the season’s graphic intensity. Drawing from regional typography, 60s and 70s vinyl artwork and East African music culture, these themes channel rhythm and optimism through bold lettering, saturated tones and the Afrorock heart motif. The result is expressive yet considered, balancing cultural reference with contemporary design.
The Birds of Bwindi series shifts focus to the forest itself. Drawing from one of Africa’s richest bird habitats, each design reflects the diversity and motion found beneath Bwindi’s canopy, transforming ecological richness into graphic language.

At the core of the season sits a photographic print series by New York based fine artist Ian Reid. Shot across Uganda, the imagery captures landscape and everyday life and is translated onto t-shirts in a bold palette drawn from the Ugandan flag. The result is a body of work shaped by land, identity and movement.
Across the season, coordinating t-shirts, hoodies, shorts and regular fit swim shorts are crafted from premium cotton and technical fabrics. Graphic led yet considered in execution, the silhouettes balance statement design with everyday functionality.
The vivid yellow water gallon extends the narrative into object design. Referencing the water containers used across rural Uganda, it also connects to the brand’s ongoing community projects in the region.
SS26 continues That Gorilla Brand’s commitment to designing with purpose, connecting product, culture and long term impact in one cohesive seasonal story.
